Northeastern Panhellenic strives to empower women to build lifelong connections through an authentic recruitment process. We aim to create a welcoming environment where individuals can explore sorority life and discover the power of sisterhood. We believe sorority life offers the opportunity to develop life-long friendships, a supportive network, and a strong sense of community. Our process prioritizes genuine interactions that allow each individual to find the best fit for their values, goals, and aspirations.
Welcome to Northeastern Panhellenic!
I’m so happy you’re here. My name is Gillian Ederle and I’m honored to serve as the External Vice President of Panhellenic Recruitment this year. It truly means the world to me to be a part of your journey as you explore all the ways sorority life at Northeastern can shape your college experience.
When I went through recruitment, I had only been in college a week and was a 12 hour drive away from home. I was scared and in a new environment that was unfamiliar and overwhelming. However, the excitement for finding a home away from home outweighed the uncertainty I was feeling. I still remember our Preference round like it was yesterday. My (future) big and I chatted about anything and everything and connected over our shared interest in food. When I left recruitment for the day I realized how at home I had felt in that room with those people. At such a hard time in my life, my chapter is what grounded me and showed me how exciting and fun college could be. And even now, in my fifth year, the friendships I have made and the community I get to be a part of has truly been my home away from home.
Throughout co-op and study abroad, my sorority has served as a stable community I can come back to. One that supports me, challenges me, and cheers me on through it all. Not only have they supported me, but they have shaped me into who I am today. I have learned how to be a better friend, leader, and student through my chapter.
As you go through recruitment, my biggest advice is to be yourself. Each of our sororities are so unique and offer a place for every unique perspective you bring. Stay open to every possibility and understand that your path may be different than what you think it will be. Get to know your Rho Gammas. They’re here to support you, listen to you, and guide you through each step. And most importantly, be kind to yourself and those around you. You are all in this together, and you might just meet people this week who will be by your side for years to come.
We are so excited to welcome you into this community, and If you need anything at all don’t hesitate to reach out!
Go Huskies!
