Northwestern Panhellenic women are leaders of service and philanthropy on this campus. Besides contributing to their own national philanthropies and service projects, they serve on the executive boards of Community Service Student Organizations such as Alternative Student Break (ASB), Organized Actions by Students Invested in Society (OASIS), and Northwestern Community Development Corps (NCDC). In addition, Panhellenic women are very involved with Dance Marathon, one of the world's largest collegiate philanthropies. In 2007-2008, the two co-chairs of Dance Marathon were both Panhellenic women!
Philanthropy is an integral part of the Northwestern Panhellenic experience. Each of our 12 chapters raises money and awareness for their national philanthropy by having philanthropic events throughout the school year, which are open to all students and the Evanston community. Chapters’ support the following organizations and causes: Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Domestic Violence and Awareness, GO RED! for Women, Service for Sight, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Speech and Hearing, Camp Fire USA, Girl Scouts of USA, Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), the Arrowmont School for Arts and Crafts, and Breast Cancer Education and Awareness.
In addition to their philanthropic endeavors, Panhellenic women believe that they should give something back to the community. The Panhellenic community is extremely involved with service activities. Our sororities at Northwestern devote hours each week to service.

Project ScArE 2008: Grimm Manor
Alpha Phi produced this event in conjunction with Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and most of the proceeds go to SAE's philanthropy- the after school sports program in Evanston/Skokie School District 65. For the event, Alpha Phi and SAE will be turning the basement and first floor of the SAE house on north campus into a haunted house. Tours will be given the evenings of Wednesday, Oct 29th, Thursday, October 30th and Friday, October 31st. Admission will be charged and t-shirts and concessions will also be sold outside the house to those waiting in line.
King of Hearts
This is Alpha Phi's new fall philanthropy, replacing "Cardiac Care," its fall 2007 philanthropy event. Proceeds will, as always, go towards women's cardiac care in Evanston. The event will be held on the evening of November 21st in Ryan Auditorium, and will be a male talent show that serves as the culmination of a few days of competition among
fraternities and mens sports teams in events like an "Eat Your Heart Out" dinner at the APhi house, t-shirt sale contests, and a date auction. Though the talent show may be the focal point, Alpha Phi hope to grow this event into one that functions on the same scale as SAE's "Paddy Murphy" or Sigma Chi's "Derby Days."

Kappa women served the guests unlimited plates of pasta with meatballs and garlic bread prepared by the highly acclaimed chef, Derrek. Tickets were sold prior to the event for $5 and were also available at the door for $7. "Overall we had a fantastic turnout, and the feedback was positive from all guests and members.
